Cap de Creus, Northern Spain.

Students of the Geology Department of Utrecht University travel to the Pyrenees at the end of their 2nd year to get acquainted with the geology and volcanic origin of that region. Professor Ernst Willinghöfer was so kind to let me come along the last week, to Cap de Creus. It was an eye-opener to see how the students learned to observe and make notations, taking account of time, chemical and mineral composition. Salvador Dali lived and worked in that region, featuring this landscape in some of his surrealistic paintings. The volcanic origin and geological pressure of National Park Cap de Creus has resulted in fascinating features.
